This is Michael. Coming to you live from a hotel room in Kansas City, Missoura...USA. We leave for Thailand bright and early tomorrow morning. We'll be "burning daylight," as they say. I chose to do a selective for two weeks in Bangkok and Ao Nang, and we will be traveling around for an additional week and a half, hoping to not get malaria. The selective entails rotating throughout the hospital in Bangkok for a week and doing more Eastern practice in a rural setting for the following week. Jessica will busy herself as always and make my trip much more enjoyable...maybe I should wait till after the trip to say that...just kidding honey bunches of oats; it'll be great!
Year one of med school is officially over, and I am quite pleased with my results, even if I feign disappointment in my first-term anatomy performance! Time is flying by very quickly. This time next year, with God's help, we will be readying ourselves for the second leg of this journey, and doing so here in the US. I can't wait! And I know it won't be easy.
Thank you everyone for your support and prayers so far. Please keep them coming. It was wonderful to see the friends and family that we have seen over the past couple of days, but as always it has been too short-lived and chaotic. There will be a brief window of time when we are back from Thailand when we will get to hopefully relax and fully enjoy people's company. But that too will be short-lived, as the ever dreaded third term begins in the wee hours of July. We look forward to seeing anyone that we can when we are home at the end of June, and also look forward to seeing our friends and "family" in Grenada when we are back and recharged. So until then..
